Consul General Liang Shugen pays Tribute to Nelson Mandela birthplace Mvezo

On October 20, Consul General Liang Shugen and his wife, Ma Shu, visited the Great Palace in Mvezo, the birthplace of Nelson Mandela, the late President of South Africa during their recent visit to Eastern Cape Province. They met with Chief Mandla Mandela, the grandson of late President Nelson Mandela and who is also an honorable Member of National Assembly.

Consul General Liang highly praised Madiba for his lifelong contribution to the building of new South Africa.He said he was also deeply impressed by the Chief’s passion to serve the community and the achievement that had been made. Mr. Liang exchanged views with Chief Mandela on further strengthening exchanges and cooperation, especially on developing relations in areas of trade, investment and education between China and South Africa.
