Images of China Exhibition Opens in Stellenbosch

Co-organized by the Confucius Institute of University of Stellenbosch and Museum of the university, Images of China, an exhibition of the private collection of Chinese paintings and craft artifacts by Prof. Wim Tijmens was kicked start on 20 May. Consul General Liang Shugen, Prof. Robert Kotze and Ms Jian Fuai, directors of Confucius Institute and more than 100 guests attended the opening ceremony.

Mr. Liang congratulated the opening of the exhibition and thanked the Confucius Institute for its efforts in making the exhibition into reality. He highly praised people like Prof. Wim Tijmens, who contributed to exchanges between China and South Africa and make the already strong relationship a more sustainable one.

Prof. Tijmens and Prof. Kotze shared with guests their stories about China and encouraged South African people to know more about China and its fascinating culture, which is the purpose of the exhibition.

The exhibition will last for 3 month till August.
