On 7 December,2015, Consul General Kang Yong attended a charity function at Baphumelele Orphanage in Cape Town, organized by South Africa Soong Ching Ling Foundation. Local Chinese Community leaders and some Chinese entrepreneurs also participated.

Consul General Kang highly appreciated South Africa Soong Ching Ling Foundation for its devotion to charity and efforts to help women and children in need, which enhanced the positive image of local Chinese community. Mr. Kang sent season’s greetings to the children of the Orphanage and wished them health and happiness.

Ms Chen Qing, Chairperson of South Africa Soong Ching Ling Foundation, pledged that the Foundation would as always stick to the path set by Madame Song ChingLing who devoted her whole life to welfare and education for children. The Foundation would work to its best to promote the friendship between the peoples of China and South Africa.

Ms Rosie, manager of the Orphanage, thanked the Soong Ching Ling Founation for its commitment in supporting the Orphanage in the past 6 years. She said the commitment brought not only food, toys, clothes and other necessities, but also greater joy and hope for children,
