|Senior CPC official meets African delegation|
BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Yunshan on Friday met with an information delegation from Africa.
The delegation consisted of 36 governmental press officers and media leaders from 19 African countries.
They came to Beijing for the seventh information seminar for African governmental officials, an annual program organized by China's State Council Information Office.
Liu, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said media cooperation between China and African countries improved mutual understanding and deepened friendship.
About 200 African governmental officials and media leaders have attended the annual information seminar since its inception in 2004.
"China would like to work with our African friends to deepen mutually-beneficial cooperation in journalism and communication," Liu said.
During the two-week seminar, African press officials and media leaders will attend lectures and tour some cities in China.
