Mr. Huang Ping Held Meeting With Local Chinese Community Representatives In Cape Town

 

On Dec 4th, Mr. Huang Ping, Deputy Director General of the Department of Consular Affairs, meet with local Chinese community in Cape Town.

 

Mr. Huang expressed his appreciation and adoration to the persistent cares and supports of the oversea Chinese to the development and peaceful reunification of motherland. He said that Chinese leaders always attached great importance to the contributions of the overseas Chinese, regarding them as the precious wealth of the state. Mr. Huang said that the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerned very much about the security situation of Chinese in S.A and the development of their business, trying its best to provide kinds of services for them. He briefed the first consular dialogue between China and S.A held at the end of November in Beijing, during which, Mr. Huang discussed with his counterpart Mr. M.J. Maqetuka, the Director General of Ministry of Home Affairs of S.A on issues of the large amount of deposits requested for Chinese applying for S.A visas and the transit visa requested for Chinese via S.A. etc.

Mr. Huang also answered questions raised by the local Chinese community representatives. Mr. Shi Weiqiang, Consul General of the P.R.C in Cape Town, and other officials of the Chinese Consulate General also attended the meeting.
